Europa Universalis IV: Mare Nostrum

Dominate the Mediterranean

Europa Universalis IV: Mare Nostrum is a downloadable content pack that enhances the naval and diplomatic aspects of the acclaimed grand strategy game, Europa Universalis IV. It introduces new systems and options focused on the Mediterranean theatre, offering players expanded possibilities for trade, espionage, and maritime warfare.

Key Features:

• Condottieri: As Italian nations, employ mercenary armies led by skilled generals, allowing for flexible military deployment without the direct cost of maintaining standing forces. Manage your reputation carefully to ensure their loyalty.
• Spy Networks: Build and expand your spy network within rival nations. Use spies to sow dissent, sabotage infrastructure, and gather intelligence, providing crucial advantages in diplomatic negotiations and warfare. Steal maps of provinces for use by your armies and navies and uncover the plots of your rivals.
• Naval Improvements: Gain tighter control over your fleets with new admiral abilities and improved naval mission options. Utilize ship bombardment to soften coastal defenses and blockade ports to disrupt enemy trade and supply lines. Construct the new 'Flagship' – the most powerful vessel in your armada – and use her unique powers and traits to lead your navy to victory. Control the seas by forming Trade Leagues and competing with other powers for influence.
• Trade Leagues: As smaller nations along important trade nodes, band together in powerful Trade Leagues to collectively compete with larger powers, secure trade income, and resist domination. Utilize the collective power of the League to engage in trade wars, monopolize nodes and ultimately increase your wealth and prestige.
• Barbary Pirates: North African nations can commission Barbary Corsairs to raid the shipping of rival powers in the Mediterranean, disrupting their trade and generating income. Choose to appease the pirates or take the fight to them in their home ports.

Expand Your Empire:

Mare Nostrum expands the depth and complexity of Europa Universalis IV, providing new tools and challenges for both veteran players and newcomers. Dive into the rich historical setting of the Mediterranean, and shape the destiny of nations through cunning diplomacy, economic mastery, and naval supremacy.
